What is the biggest risk you’ve ever taken, and what did you learn from it?
The biggest risk must have been when I took the leap and started Blueye Robotics in 2015. It was my greatest dream to bring the ocean closer to people, so we all understand it and take care of it. Being part of starting a tech company, building a culture, and seeing our underwater drones out in the world was truly magical.
It taught me a lot about people and collaboration – and I learned that the only limitations that exist are the ones I allow. It is my responsibility to make the most of my own potential. There’s no point in blaming others, and there is a lot to learn from making mistakes.
What is one habit or mindset shift that has made a significant difference in your life?
I have realized that when I look for opportunities, they are there, but if I look for problems, they are there too. Life is much more fun when I focus on the former :)
I also discovered that saying YES—even when it's something I’ve never tried before—always brings valuable learning and opens new doors.

Who has been your greatest inspiration, and how have they influenced your journey?
I am inspired by many people in different areas, and I am greatly influenced by those I am close to. That’s why I choose them carefully :) I am drawn to people who have a positive mindset, who are happy, and who make an effort for what they believe in.
Right now, I’m particularly inspired by my son – he reminds me that every day is a new opportunity to experience something new and share good energy with those around me.
Looking back at your journey, is there a piece of advice you wish you had received earlier?
I am very sensitive, but I grew up seeing it as a weakness. I would love to tell 20-year-old Christine that showing emotions is a strength—and even more so when you can put words to them.
At the end of the day, we bring our whole selves to every situation we find ourselves in, and if we practice using our entire toolbox, we can build something much greater.

If you could change one thing for women globally, what would it be, and why?
Equal opportunities and rights – I truly believe it would make the world a better place for everyone.
